I thought Flickr looked good. You could tag pictures so you could group them or find pictures easier. I didn't want a Yahoo account so I didn't sign up for Flickr. I think I will look for other options.

Finding Feeds

I found a good feed on topix. It gives you news about your area. Sindic8 didn't interest me. I don't want to search through personal blogs. The site was slow when I was searching as well.
I also had problems with Technorati. When I clicked on the feed symbol, it asked me to save it. I couldn't add the feed to my list.

Bloglines wasn't difficult to set up. I thought it was more difficult picking websites that I would like to go to. I could see how this would be helpful to people who like to keep up to date on special issues.
I feel like I am out of my element. I can go months without getting online. I don't think this is something I will use but I am willing to learn about it.

IM

This is my first IM experience. It seems the same as texting and emailing. Send a message and wait for a response.


In reference to using IM for reference questions...I believe I would use it if there was a quick response time.

7 & 1/2 lifelong learning habits

7 and 1/2 lifelong learning habits is a great guideline to go by to set and achieve your goals. I feel inspired just reading through it. The hard part of the program for me will be to accept responsibility for my learning. There is so much going on in my life, like everyone elses, that it is hard to stick to a goal. I tend to focus on the day-to-day "to do"s and put off working on my learning goals.

Getting started...

This is so weird to me. I haven't blogged before and it seems odd. I am used to sending messages to specific people not to the general public. To whom it may concern...? It will be interesting to see what happens.
